SAAF-İngiliz “Guardian” gazetesi Afganistan’daki NATO komutanı General David Richards ile röportaj yaptı. Richards, Afganistan’daki çabaların sonuç vermesi için daha fazla para ve askere ihtiyacı var, dedi.

Guardian gazetesinin haberine göre Taliban hareketini yenmek için NATO güçlerinin bir yıla daha ihtiyaç duyduğunu savunan Richards, kış operasyonu denen harekâtın istenilenin altında bir başarı elde ettiğini söyledi.

NATO ülkelerinin geçen yıl elde edilen başarıyı bu yıl beklememelerini ifade eden Richards, Batının henüz gelişmemiş olan İslam ülkelerine Batılı çözümleri dayatmaktan vazgeçmeleri gerektiğini kaydetti.

Afganistan Devlet Başkan Hamid Karzai’nin de ülkedeki yolsuzluklarla mücadelede daha çabuk davranması gerektiğini de ifade eden Richards, sivil toplum kuruluşlarının da yeniden yapılanma aşamasında daha acele davranmaları gerektiğini belirtti.
